Fall Tryout Conditioning

Flex Hockey offers a Tryout Conditioning program every Fall before Association Tryouts are held. This program is customized for each level of play and focuses our training on what the tryout evaluators are looking for. Typically every practice has a strong emphasis on skating skills & instruction.

Schedule for the 2025 sessions should be available sometime in late Spring 2025. Check back regularly

Where

All ice hours for this program will be held at the Andover Community Center.

*Please look at the monitors when entering the rink for rink & Locker Room assignments.

Age Levels/Groups

Peewee/12U: All players currently playing at this level this past season and first year Bantam/15U


Squirt/10U: All players currently playing at this level this past season


Mite/8U: All players currently playing at this level this past season

*Flex Staff may move a player to a different group that is appropriate for their individual skill set when necessary.

Practices

Practices are intense and focus on a variety of skills not limited to; Skating, agility, balance, edge work, speed, stops/starts, team play, puck handling & control, shooting, passing, and player movements

We expect good listening from All players during demonstrations

Practices are geared towards each level of play and the players will be encouraged to push themselves to their full potential. It is a positive environment where kids are allowed to learn and have fun!



Who

Open to any players & goalies from any Association.

Must meet criteria of one of the age groups listed above.

Jerseys/Equipment

Players can wear any appropriate hockey jersey for this program. No jerseys will be issued for this program.

*Flex jerseys are encouraged if you have them already.

All player & goalie protective equipment must be worn at all times.

Bring a water bottle for breaks

Goalies

This program encourages goalies to attend. A dedicated goalie coach is involved for most sessions to work with goalies on positioning, save techniques, skating, puck control and much more.

Goalies will be part of drills at times while also getting support & instruction from coaches.
